Yet another way to navigate Flickr Photos through Tag Galaxy! Type in a word “tag”, surf the luminous galaxies, select another planet, then watch a matrix of tagged photos latch onto a planet to spin, flip, and zoom your fingers away. I’m not sure how practical this is, but none the less cool for a bit.

“More than 120 RISD artists and designers across 14 disciplines featured in graduate student showcase of art and design at its very best.
For the second consecutive year, the extraordinary work of more than 120 students receiving master’s degrees from Rhode Island School of Design [RISD] will be on view at the Rhode Island Convention Center in RISD’s Annual Graduate Thesis Exhibition. The work of graduate students in painting, industrial design, sculpture, textiles, photography and nine other art and design disciplines will be on exhibit from May 21-June 1, 2008.
An online gallery has also been created to allow “virtual visitors†to view examples of work from the exhibition.”

Johan Lorbeer pulls off this incredible illusion in levitation… It took me a few minutes to figure out (the drinking one gave it away), but damn, this is awesome. Mystery at it’s best!

PicLens creates a 3 dimensional experience in browsing images and videos. Install the plug-in and PicLens gives you an option to view image+video searches via their zippity fun matrix gallery. It’s a bit slow but visually cool, especially after a few hundred images upload. The visual browsing experience gets more appealing everyday…hopefully bandwidth isn’t an issue =) (thanks dfresh)

First comes the whole pixelation craze then comes Bert Simons with his paper craft portraits which appear as fractal faceted faces in a somewhat eerie way….maybe it’s just how he hangs them like deer heads. Anyhow, very cool visual…Not sure how to do this on my own, but I just might have to upload my face via some 3D program (maybe Blender as he did..it’s free) then print out a cutout mixing it up with the cool illusion of the Gardner Dragon! (that would rock if I could mix these two)

This is an amazing illusion that plain makes ya go woa, what, wow!
Print out this dragon, cut it out, fold it a few times, and you’ll get this freaky illusion that the dragons head becomes 3 dimensional and it’ll follow your every move sideways, up, and down… ooo, and you need to close one eye to get the illusion though I had a few people get the illusion with both of their eyes open…seriously, this is awesome! I’m making a bunch of them!

We all know Leonardo Da Vinci’s life and work — but until now, we have not known what he looked like as a man. Illustrator and activist Siegfried Woldhek used some thoughtful image-analysis techniques to find what he believes is the true face of Leonardo. Announcing his discovery for the first time at last month’s TED conference, he walks us through exactly how he did it.
Barcodes are on everything…barcodes can get boring. D-Barcodes in Japan has given barcodes a flair of fun and creativity. Awesome. I want a barcode quilted sweater now.

Sweet goodness! A simple DIY stool by Arik Levy, utilizing those many magazines ya’ll have to make pretty sweet looking solid stools. Stools are made from wood, as are magazines, so why not make a stool from magazines! Even rip middle portions of the inside pages to make it a bit more comfy… I dunno, I’ll have to try!
I really want to make an adjustable functional shelf stool from this idea. A stool and magazine rack all in one. Grab your pens, start sketching!
