Who says you can’t have a bit of fun and work in an office environment… Get a beanbag on a chair!

You know those manholes that steam up on cold mornings in nyc… We’ll now everytime you see them, you’ll think think about hot steaming Folgers coffee. I’m not sure if these ads are real, but seems like a great idea!!

The widely popular Isle Lounge Chair (sofa) is finaly available for sale, even though the price is still rather high, but to have one of these suckers in my house would rock!!(given I had a space for it) Roll around in it, sit and lounge with 10 others in it, take a picture and look like a munchkin in it, or even roll a basketball around you for endless hours of fun. I’m sure if I ever got one of these beauties I’ll feel like a kid again.
I’ve posted some great images of this monster after the jump…
Lot-ek has always been a favorite in the realms of sustainable architecture along with an assortment of incredible projects dealing with art, architecture, information, urban reality, and technology woven into our everyday lives. Recently they introduced an astonishing concept for a library using over 200 Boeing 727 and 737 fuselages. The fuselage is the ONLY part of a decommissioned airplane that cannot be effectively recycled. Check out their site for some very inspirational ideas, especially their use of cargo vessels.

Chronos Chromos concrete brings to us adaptable concrete that changes colors to create images, text, or just plain cool ambient aesthetics. In a large space. The transition is a bit slow, but has a magical blurring quality to it. I’m not sure how much this system would cost, but I look forward to finding and experiencing it soon. Check out their demo video! (takes awhile to download)

I StumbledUpon some great music by Aaron Jasinkski who also has some great illustrations. His beats are ambient experimental tunes that are great to sketch to or when your in that ‘brainstorming by yourself’ moment. Good stuff!

It’s curious how industrial products are slowly evolving back to their natural stages. Pictured above are two showerheads connecting you to nature a bit more. First, a shower head that rains on you in a sexy kinda way, then another one that actually creates a cloud that rains on you…pretty cool yeah!!!

If your out in the Santa Monica region go check out Brendan Monroes upcoming exhibition of recent work at the Richard Heller Galllery. Above are creatures Brendan created a few months back. Check out his gallery preview … I love his somewhat disturbing drawings.
Cool+geeky+stylish is rare, but check out these sweet looking dot matrix watches!! I’m the type that has to feel and see before I approve, but these already have me craving. It also has a wave-like light pattern sort of like the pimp watch. Leather+Tech= rockin awesome! Hopefully it fits great!

It’s great how the usb stick has become a race to give them personality, style, and fun. There’s the slick metal ones, the sushi ones, the usb ring, the cute mimobots, and now some whimsical ones that hint at the storage capacity. When the function of an object is limited to changes, the creative juices kick in to give plain boring products some jazz and spunk! Pictured above is Michael Leungs ruler usb stick which depicts the capacity of a stick based on the length. On the right is a usb bag that acts like a stomach. The more stored in it, the larger it gets. I wonder if you can squeeze the belly to copy data out of it? fun fun fun!
Some wooden structures by The Art Office have been surfing the net lately. I thought I’d take this opportunity to share how similar this project is to a lamp project I created way back in high school and my early years at RISD. I guess when you have a real studio, you stop buying popsicle sticks and use 2 x 4’s. Anyhow, all great stuff!

One of my favorite commercials was the “Ugoff” series for BurgerKing in 2004. Recently some really great VW commercials came out which reminded me of them, and whala…it’s the same freakin firm! If you have not seen either series, your missing out! If your a designer, you’ll have a great appreciation for the “Ugoff” series. Anyhow, they rock!Crispin Porter+Bogusky
